So you finally had a fight that went too far, and it ended in a breakup. Sometimes after tempers cool off, we find things may not have gone how we really wanted them to. You may even find you want him back. However, the question is, will he come back? Of course, it's impossible to know for certain. But there are signs that he may want to come back just as much as you want him to.
Check the following signs to see if he might want to come back, even now. Just because you said it was over doesn't mean it has to be if you both want to get back together.
1. He contacts you with something unimportant after asking for no contact.
For various reasons, your guy may have asked you for no contact. He made it clear he never wanted to speak to you again and wanted you to, under no circumstances, ever contact him again.
However, if he asked for no contact, it may be because being around you is too hard – meaning he still has feelings for you. That's a good sign if you want him back. What's even better is if he contacts you after asking for no contact.
It could be that he's making up reasons to hear or see you again, because he just can't stay away. This is particularly true if the reasons are silly or unimportant.
2. He apologizes first and asks you what's wrong in your relationship.
One way to tell if he wants to come back is if he tries to mend things afterwards. Think about it - if the relationship is over, why would he bother to apologize and try to figure things out?
Chances are he's missing you and wants to find a way for you two to get back together – especially if he apologizes first.
3. He still hangs out with your friends and family.
The question of "Will he comes back" can sometimes be answered more effectively by watching his actions than by listening to his words. He may not want to appear vulnerable to you, and he may avoid you directly. Where is he spending his time though? Is it always "adjacent" to you?
If you find him hanging out with your friends and family, it could be that he is trying to stay close to you. Not to mention, your friends and family are a great source of information if he's trying to keep track of you and what you've been doing.
4. He stalks your social media.
Stalking may not be the most flattering way to say I miss you, but human nature can be hard to control. With social media so easy to access, it's an excellent way to keep track of someone without letting them know they are doing so.
After all, don't you like to keep your social media updated with your most recent goings-on? If you do, he may be watching you closer than you think. However, if you want him back, that obsessive behavior likely means he's missing you badly.
5. He reminds you of the past good times you've shared together.
Even as you may be wondering, will he ever come back? He may be wishing it had already happened. A dead giveaway for this is if you catch him living in the past and trying desperately to get you to as well.
If he keeps bringing up fun times you've had together, he may be trying to rekindle your interest in him. So if you want him back, perhaps encourage him to keep doing this as it opens a door for him to return.
6. He doesn't start dating other people.
If you find he isn't dating, it may be because he can't find anyone as good for him as you. Better yet, he may be avoiding dating because it would finalize the end of the relationship you two had.
If that's the case, you might want to ask mutual friends to see what the situation is. There's a good chance he wants you back as badly as you want him.
7. He is curious about your love life.
You two aren't a couple, so your love life shouldn't concern him. If it does, he is likely not moving on. If you think about it, there's little reason he would want to keep track of you otherwise. He should be focusing on his own love life. Longing may be the source of this behavior.
8. He asks about you through mutual friends.
Will he come back might be more readily answered by your guy's friends than by asking him directly. Sure, he may be playing it calm and cool; he doesn't want to let you see how miserable he is without you. However, his friends will know the truth. Check with them, and see if he can't get you off his mind and wants you back.
9. He gets excited or sad when he sees you.
Once you're broken up, there's really no reason he should be excited to see you. You're not going to be doing anything together, so why would he be so thrilled?
It could be that just seeing you is enough to brighten his day if he's missed you terribly. Conversely, that sad face is a clear giveaway that he has definitely been missing you. So, oddly enough, both excitement and sadness are good signs for you.
10. He's been sleeping around.
This may sound strange since it's been noted already that a lack of dating is a sign he wants to come back, but if he's sleeping around, it could indicate that he wants you back. If he's lonely, he may be trying to connect with someone and to find some intimacy to replace what he's lost.
Well, if he's sleeping around, that means he has not yet been able to find that person to replace you. Maybe it's painful to find out he's doing so, but his actions show that he is missing you terribly.
Sometimes Love Is Meant to Be
These are just a few signs he may be thinking of coming back to you. It's good to remember, though, that a relationship takes two people. If you truly want him back, it may require you to take the first step to make it happen. Yes, it can be frightening to make the first move. However, if you've ticked off a bunch of the signs above, chances are he won't rebuff you and is missing you as well.
Regardless, we can at least say one thing is almost always true: if he loves you, he will come back no matter what.
